For People on the Run
A Quiet Day with Barbara Crafton

Barbara Cawthorne Crafton, is an Episcopal priest, spiritual director and author of many books as well as the celebrated "Almost Daily eMo". In June of 2007, she visited St. James and gave an excellent program on slowing down in order to listen to God. What Barbara most affirmed for us is that prayer is not a job; prayer is a gift from God.

Women's Retreat Series

In January 2009, Victoria Chance led the first session of a women's retreat series that included healthy eating, yoga, meditation, and the beach! The retreat was so popular that we will travel there again in January of 2010.

Other Events

Other retreats have included the Daughters of the King retreat at Mepkin Abbey, Men's retreats at Solitude Pointe (Fr. Jack Hardaway, leader) and BonClarken (Fr. Roy Cole, leader), Days of Reflection with Thomas Portney and The Rev'd Fred Burnham, Advent Quiet Evenings with Fr. Tom Davis & Posey Jackson, Women's retreats with Diana McKendree & Chelsea Wakefield, and a Dream Retreat at Kanuga Conference Center.

For more information on these retreats, or to have retreat brought to your location, please contact Janet Atkins, Director of the Center for Spiritual Development.
